Intent and Experience Offered: The exhibit is a series of rooms which a small group of audience members are guided through. Each room is based on a neuroscience experiments. These experiments are meant to show the audience how malleable human perception is, leave the audience questioning whether or not individual identity is as fixed as we perceive it to be.

Sketches & Ideation

Initial sketch exploration started with a few ideas of a theater stage with a brain on it. The theater relating to the name and presentation of the show, and the brain representing the neuroscience aspect of the show. A few other ideas were to use DNA, looking at the photos of ones brains, and a using a human profile.

Through the sketch process, I realized that the initial sketches were very illustrative and were lacking any typography. The second round of sketches were forced on starting to incorporate type into the poster design.

Digital Ideation

After sketching on initial concepts, I moved to working on a series of digital ideations combining a handful of sketch concepts with typography.

Color Palette

While I decided to move forward with a type heavy design for the poster design, I still wanted to keep a connection to neuroscience, as it is such an important part of the Theater of the Mind show.

Refined Ideation

Two versions of refined ideation, one of the brain scan concept and the other using type to create a repeat pattern.
